It's #TravelFriday again, so it's time for a new travel blog post to celebrate the weekend!
This is gonna be a small post, because i really couldn't find the time to write this week #oops! But it's going to be a fun one, because i'm gonna take you with me to a water park in Salou, Spain
Port Aventura Caribe Aquatic Park
In 2014 we went to Barcelona by car. All the way from Holland, whoop whoop. It was a long drive, but going on vacation by car gives you a lot of freedom. It's actually the reason we left Barcelona two times to go to some awesome waterparks. I'm gonna write about one of the water parks in this blogpost. The waterpark we went to is called Port Aventura Caribe Aquatic Park. The waterpark is part of Port Aventura World, which is devided in 3 parks:
- Port Aventura Park (this is the original theme park with rides like rollercoasters)
- Port Aventura Caribe Aquatic Park (which is the waterpark)
- Port Aventura Ferrari Land (which is actually opening soon, in April 2017!!)

I think Port Aventura Caribe is a beautiful park with a lot of fun waterslides. I went to the Port Aventura Caribe waterpark with my boyfriend (now husband). We had a fun day, but we felt like the park would be more fun to visit if we would be travelling with kids. If you are looking for a waterpark which is more fun to visit as young-adults, i recommend visiting Aquopolis, which is a waterpark close to Port Aventura. I will write about visiting this waterpark in a blogpost later on.
Staying there
There are also Port Aventura hotels you can stay at. This would be a fun option if you want to visit all the parks! I also think staying there is fun if you're travelling with children. The children will love it at Port Aventura!
Getting there from Barcelona
The waterpark is in Salou, which is an estimated 80 minute drive from Barcelona by car. Times may vary, depending on where you're staying. We stayed at the H10 Marina Barcelona Hotel, since it had private parking. The roads that lead from Barcelona to Port Aventura are toll roads, and they are NOT cheap at all! Keep this in mind if you are planning to go to the waterpark by car.
According to Google Maps, you can also get there by bus (from Passeig de Gracia for example). This will take about 80 minutes as well and the bus stops at the Port Aventura bus-stop.
Buying Tickets
Once you get there, you can buy tickets at the entrance of the park. Lines weren't extremely long when i went to visit, but it may vary from time to time. You can also book tickets on the official website.
