Walk amidst - and take selfies with - Monkeys in The Netherlands!

Hello all :)

It's Travel Friday again!

Most of you know The Netherlands (a.k.a. Holland) for it's capital city Amsterdam. But The Netherlands are good for more than just a citytrip to Amsterdam. The Netherlands offer various national parks with beautiful nature, beautiful cities and fun things to do! For example: walking amidst monkeys in the Apenheul!

Monkeys, Monkeys and more Monkeys!

The Apenheul is a monkey park in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. In this park you can walk amidst all kinds of monkeys. It is so much fun! The monkeys can climb on you, which gives an exceptional moment to take photos and selfies with the cute monkeys. You can also enjoy monkey "shows" and at several times, you can watch the monkey's feeding time.

You have to put your bag in a special bag you can "borrow" at the park for free. This is nessacary, because the monkeys will try to open your bags and take your stuff.

How to get there?

Apenheul is situated less than 45 minutes from Utrecht and Nijmegen, and from Amsterdam you can be walking amongst the primates within the hour. When travelling with public transportation, you can take a train to Apeldoorn station. There is a bus from the train station in Apeldoorn to Apenheul every fifteen minutes.

As a (wannabe) photographer, I took a lot of photos at the park. Enjoy this visual Diary of our day at the Apenheul in The Netherlands.
